Tom McMillen
CTO
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your role within Intilery?
I’m the CTO, so whilst I know the technology, I don’t actually spend much time building it now. When Intilery started I was deep in the code, now my role is about making sure we match the right people, with the right skills and build our teams to develop and run the platform for clients, making sure our vision delivers, and the platform operates successfully for our clients.
What’s something exciting that you’re working on at the moment?
We have a lot of great ideas that we want to add to the platform, so I’m busy making sure we have the roadmap right and our capability and capacity match the ambition for the changes we want to bring in over the next year. As we work across the full spectrum of clients from SMEs to large enterprises, we need to make sure the platform is as easy to use and performant for one use as it is for clients with hundreds to thousands of customers.
How do you spend your time when you’re not working?
Lockdown life has led to a lot of walking with family when the weather is good, role playing games when it’s not. My teenage kids have introduced me to Attack on Titan and TikTok and I probably spend too much time there. I’ve managed to keep fit kickboxing, played piano, taken up astrophotography, and made the obligatory sourdough loaves. I’m looking forward to going sailing again and hoping we’ll be able to go to festivals again this summer.
