It’s Safer Gambling Week, an industry initiative to promote safer gambling in the UK & Ireland.
Gambling has long been a popular recreational activity on these isles with football and horseracing chief amongst the sports that attract peoples betting instincts. Established in 1539, Chester is the oldest racecourse still in operation anywhere in the world and Chester being the home of Intilery we feel an extra element of reasonability to help clients provide customers with safer gambling.
An important part of our obligations is to recognise, and help gamblers recognise in themselves, unhealthy betting behaviour. Intilery can help track customers online betting behaviour, set up dynamic audiences governed by that behavior and serve those audiences with appropriate messages.
Intilery client, Rhino Bet, tracks customer game play and sends those it sees as at risk emails with gambling advice, such as “gambling should be fun and not seen as a way of making money; avoid chasing losses”, along with access to a suit self-management tools including reminders when more than an amount of time is spent on the site, deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.

While NHS Digital estimates 280,000 people in the UK are problem gamblers, and other sources suggest it could be more, 2.1 million people bet online most of them enjoying gambling responsibly.
According to Statista.com, 6% of us have placed a bet on a sporting event in the last 4 weeks. Throw Bingo, The National Lottery and The Postcode Lottery into the mix and most of us are engaged with one category of gambling or other. We take responsible gambling seriously.
